Sanggar Kresna Dana
Developed in the year of 1998, Sanggar Kresna
Dana focus on West Bali musics and dances. As the expert in creating
and playing Jegog (big bamboo music) and Gender (bronze
music) in west Bali area, SKD dedicated this Sanggar to be the leading
of Bali Musics Community in West Bali as precious reminder of or Bali
Musics.
Sanggar Kresna Dana performs this rich music throughout west bali region
in Banjar (small village community), schools, goverment, privates events,
ceremonial time, musics festivals, and specially make own concert at
our Sanggar for regular West Bali musics and dances events.
The missions established by
Sanggar Kresna Dana:
To maintain a community orchestra in the west
Bali region,
To introduce Bali Music Jegog as the only region in
Bali that can create and playing this Musics, the spirit music of Jegog
is also spirit of our people in west Bali.
To show the different and value of west bali tradition and culture
To establish collaboration with other cultural organizations for diversity
of the world's musics and cultures
To educate local young people and generation to learn the arts, especially
in the music of West Bali
To compose new music based on a knowledge of the west bali traditional
and new musical styles of Bali, and
To enhance the spirit of community and to participate in cultural exchanges
through informal social gatherings.
